Shaykh Syed Kashif Karim was born in the port city of Karachi, Pakistan in 1974. He earned a degree in Computer Science from University of Karachi in 1994 and has since worked in Pakistan, USA and Saudi Arabia in the field of Information Technology.
While living in the US, he was fortunate to get in touch with local Islamic scholars who had been trained in traditional Islamic sciences in different parts of the Muslim world. Impressed by the deep understanding and practice of these individuals he also started formally pursuing Islamic knowledge under them and other scholars visiting the US from abroad, such as UK, South Africa and the Sub-continent.
Along with his full time job and family obligations he continued on to study advanced books in the company of his teachers for over 10 years culminating his studies in the famous books of Hadith such as Sahih of Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim and Imam Tirmidhi rahimAllahu anhum. Throughout his shariah studies he remained under close supervision of the Honorable Shaykh, Maulana Hafiz Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi Mujaddedi of Pakistan on the path of spiritual purification as well. Ultimately the Shaykh, considering him ready to guide others on this path formally granted him ijazah in the Naqshbandi Mujaddedi silsilah of tasawwuf in 2011, soon after he had graduated with an Alim degree.
Shaykh Kashif currently works as a Information Technology consultant along with helping people in his part time in their quest for traditional Islamic understanding. He lectures in both Urdu and the English language.
